Epson LS300B Review – The Laser Projector

Its projectors all utilise LCD three-chip technology. The Epson EH-LS300B is a 1920x1080p 2K projector, in contrast to many of its 4K rivals. This may, understandably, cause many to pause, but it’s important to remember that 4K options at this price range utilize a chipset with a natural 1920×1080 resolution; the extra pixels were added digitally. The EH-ability LS300B’s to accept 4K input signals up to 4K/60Hz 4:2:0 with 10-bit HDR is more significant.

These signals will be scaled to 1920x1080p but will be seen in all of their HDR magnificence. Hybrid Log-Gamma and HDR-10 are both compatible with it (HLG). The EH-LS300B is incompatible with Dolby Vision signals, just like every other projector we’ve come across thus far.

This smart projector, which belongs to the new generation, runs on the Android operating system and supports streaming from iOS and Android smartphones using Google Chromecast. The EH-LS300B is a smart projector that supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi but is deficient in an Ethernet input. Yamaha and Epson have collaborated to develop an integrated 2.1 channel sound system with a 20-watt total output (5W per speaker and 10W for the woofer).

With dimensions of 467 mm wide by 400 mm deep, the Epson EH-LS300B is a reasonably small device. There are three 15.5mm Epson C2 Fine LCD projector screens inside, as well as a laser diode.

The first is long life. The light life of the projector is rated at 20,000 hours. Second, the projector starts up quickly; our stopwatch indicates that it does so in 5.5 seconds when in standby mode and in 6.5 seconds after being unplugged. It also ignites quickly. Additionally, the height of the bulb may be adjusted to assist darken sceneries. According to Epson, the dynamic contrast ratio can reach 2.5 million to one or 1.5 million to one.

Two HDMI connections, a USB port for playing back video from a USB stick, and Wi-Fi are all included. Surprisingly, there isn’t an Ethernet connection; given our relatively RF-congested modern environs, we’d much rather have that alternative than being limited to Wi-Fi. However, because it supports the 801.11ac standard and has dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, it may perform better than the 100Mbps Ethernet that is often installed on many devices.

Picture Quality

Sound Quality

The Epson LS300 is a laser projector that produces colour using a 3-chip architecture. This makes the screen brighter overall and avoids visual problems like the rainbow effect, allowing you to concentrate only on watching your material. One thing to keep in mind is that the Epson LS300 only offers Full HD as its default resolution (1080p). It is still sharp and realistic because it has the same resolution as the majority of HD TVs, but it is not quite as detailed or crisp as a true 4K projector.

The LS300 operates admirably in any degree of ambient light, which is a benefit. Along with having a powerful bulb, it also has a short throw ratio, which is advantageous in this situation since it reduces the distance the light must travel before hitting the screen. Due to the quick CPU, it also performs well with fast-moving scenes without any blurring or choppy effects. No matter what sort of material you’re watching, it’s simple to lose yourself in the experience.

Conclusion

Epson’s LS300 offers convenient big-screen projection at a price that is far less expensive than is typical for its class, while not having the greatest specifications. It is less vivid and detailed than its more expensive 4K equivalents, but for the money, it’s impossible to complain about the huge, bright, realistically produced picture and the built-in streaming capabilities. Just be sure to include a soundbar in your budget.

Product is excellent and worth the cost!

    Overall Experience:

Really outstanding product; YouTube supports 4K playback; Netflix is not preinstalled; and I was unable to locate the app in the Google Play Store. Even better are Yamaha speakers.
