Viewsonic M1 mini Plus Review – The Impressive performer

In terms of both image and sound quality, the Viewsonic M1 Mini Plus performs impressively. The system is a lamp-free projector using a 0.2-inch DLP chip and an LED light source. As a result, the device’s advertised lifetime (up to 30,000 hours), power-up times, and rainbow effect are all diminished. It uses no mercury, making it even greener than light projectors.

The improved luminous efficiency and colour saturation are also made possible by the LED light source. The M1 Mini Plus offers 50 ANSI Lumens and 120 LED Lumens with Rec 709 Colors for brightness. This means that despite having a native resolution of 480p, large-format videos still have a rather clean and clear image.

Speaking of resolution, the projector can easily display films in a variety of formats, from VGA 640x480p to Full HD 1920 x 1080p, thanks to its native 854 x 480 FWVGA resolution and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Furthermore, the watching experience was rarely impacted because the visual quality was preserved even after the projector downscaled the high-res video to fit into its native resolution. The sole viewing restriction will be that the projector needs dimly lit or fully dark situations in order to operate properly.

Design

Design

The built-in battery of the M1 tiny Plus provided around an hour of playback. Although it isn’t much, you can simply charge the projector while on the road because it employs a USB-C connector for charging. A power bank can be used, however, it must have an output of at least 18W in order to charge the projector. The projector includes a built-in stand to raise it, and if turning it upside down makes things easier, you can do that too. Output adjustments are available in the settings menu.

Picture Quality

Picture Quality

The M1 tiny both produced comparable images. Each one of them has a 480p resolution and projected a comparably sized, useable image with acceptable colour fidelity. The M1 Mini has several flaws if you evaluate it using the same criteria you would for a home theatre projector. In comparison to 1080p, the SD resolution had to be the soft focus, and even in TV mode, some of the colours were not in a realistic range.

Conclusion

In terms of projector performance, the M1 Mini Plus fares well. It even emits low-level mechanical noises from the cooling vents, making listening less annoying. The HDMI 1.4, USB 2.0 Type-A, and USB Type-C connectors on the projector make it simple to locate a wire that fits well despite the requirement for cables.

Additionally, the gadget has a straightforward stand that is balanced, robust, and simple to adjust for the ideal projection angle. The projector, however, is noticeably devoid of controls save a focus wheel. A portable remote controller that is compact and lightweight is required to operate the gadget. As long as the remote is pointing towards the projector, it can operate the device even when it is across the room. However, if the remote disappears, there will be no way for you to operate the projector.
