Naim Mu-so Wood Edition Review – Wireless Music System

Naim is a manufacturer of high-end component audio equipment and the superb sound systems featured in Bentley automobiles. You may or may not be familiar with Naim. With its Naim Mu-so Wood Edition, the UK audio manufacturer is targeting the more casual home user while maintaining its reputation for high-end audio, design, and construction. The Mu-so is currently in its second generation and is available in a gorgeous Wood Edition that provides the integrated sound system a fresh, airy appearance.

Along with Bang & Olufsen and Sonos, Naim is a high-end brand. They are all focused on creating stunning pieces of décor, not just speakers, by using superior design and workmanship. The second is a concentration on audio quality. This item was created especially for home audio. I finally received my Wood Edition Mu-so after a few weeks, and I’ve been using it as a component of my entertainment system ever since. Continue reading for a more in-depth evaluation.

Design

Design

The Mu-so Wood Edition has a top-notch design in every way. With dimensions of 24.7′′ w x 10.4′′ d x 4.8′′ h and a weight of 25 pounds, this item is rather substantial. It is made of Ayous, a sustainable wood that has been thickly lacquered to achieve a mirror-like brilliance. The Mu-grille so’s features an undulating design resembling an ocean wave and a light-colored grille cloth that attractively contrasts with the wood. The speaker appears to be floating since the entire assembly is supported by a base made of transparent acrylic. Consider checking out the Naim Mu-so for Bentley Special Edition if you prefer darker hues.

Sound Quality

Sound Quality

To get the most out of your music, those amplifiers and speakers work in tandem with a quick digital signal processor (DSP). Its sound is famous for its purity and sharpness. There are no equaliser adjustments other than a loudness setting and room compensation, which can enhance the sound if you place the speaker close to a wall or corner since Naim is so convinced you’ll like the natural and pure sound. The good news is that Naim’s audio engineers are skilled. Particularly when it comes to analogue instruments and vocals, there is a tonne of delicacy and detail to be heard. The Mu-capacity so’s to produce a volume level loud enough to fill a room without being harsh also strikes me as impressive.

Conclusions

The Naim Mu-So 2nd Generation, like most Naim products, is a stunning piece of design with superb acoustic performance that will look at home in many locations where conventional audio equipment would not pass muster. However, it will be a stretch for some budgets. You’ll pay a tiny price premium for the Mu-wood So’s edition, but you’ll get a product that excels at reproducing music and makes it possible to enjoy it in living spaces and rooms where speakers are not an option owing to aesthetic concerns or due to space limitations. It’s obvious that the Naim team gave careful thought to how to make the combination of audiophile and lifestyle items into a cohesive and appealing whole.

    Basically, an outstanding speaker

    By Satish Rao

    Overall Experience:

This Muso outperforms my Klipsch Stadium (discontinued), which I replaced it with. The Muso is amazing in that it doesn’t lean heavily on the bass. I’m a bass guy, and there’s just enough bass here! In this speaker, the midrange and treble sing.
