An amplifier called the HeadLine 2 is made to deliver top-notch performance from a variety of high-impedance headphones. With the exception of the NAC 152 XS, every Naim preamplifier comes equipped with a captive lead that allows the amplifier to receive its signal from the tape socket. Its own volume control, extremely low distortion, and extremely quiet operation make it ideal for driving most headphones to their highest levels. This is crucial because noise and distortion are often very obvious in headphones, so Naim has gone to considerable pains to lower these characteristics to incredibly low levels.
As a minimum, the HeadLine needs to be utilised with an external power source like the NAPSC. To achieve even greater performance when using a FlatCap XS, HiCap, or SuperCap, you additionally require a specific connector called the SLIC.

Design
Many designs were explored for the Naim NAC 252 preamplifier and a complete review of the circuit topology and components took place in accordance with the developments pioneered in preamplifiers such as the NAC52. Hundreds of hours were spent listening to various designs, ensuring that the harmony between music and technology was always maintained.
Ten independently regulated power supplies are fed from the matching SuperCap power supply. Totally separate regulated supplies for the digital control and switching ensure no noise is generated in the audio circuits.
Sound Quality
From a distance, any component Naim looks straightforward black box, but it is worth to consider it closely, amazed with what care and engineering acumen done. Thick-walled aluminum casing telephone amplifier Headline, for example, has no visible joints or fasteners. How is that even possible to be collected? Front – only the headphone jack, power button and volume control. Rear – connector for external (and, incidentally, much more weighty than the amplifier itself) power supply and cable output jacks instead of the usual RCA. Upon customer request the “tail” mounted or traditional “tulip” or 5-pin DIN Headline integration in audio Naim. We have been, of course, “international” version with RCA.
Listening with headphones Denon AH-A100 Anniversary Edition. Result fundamentally different, but also very impressive. All power is concentrated in the lower register, but the bass this does not become heavy, “overfed”, but only gets a pleasant impulsiveness. At the same time as it frees space for the formation of solid full-length images in the middle lane, minimizing paint. It is with Naim phones Denon demonstrate the highest resolution in the upper register, and sound like the best open models.

Conclusions
Considering that I have a spare NAPSC hanging around collecting dust, I was considering purchasing a Headline (after the DualTeddycap came into the picture about a year ago). An Naim Hicap is not an option. I discovered that the Headline might be linked to the preamp and the sound quality through the Headline depend on the preamp’s quality (NAC202, NAC282, NAC252, etc.) I’m also quite curious about the best headphones people are pairing with the Headline.
Best sound quality in such this price, value for money product.
Overall Experience:
With no noise, it sounds fantastic! To get the most out of my high-quality headphones, I use it to increase output to the headphones in the studio and occasionally when watching a movie. If I didn’t have to take the power cord out every time I used it, I’d give it five stars.
