Focal Sib Evo Review – Home Theater

The Focal Sib Evo 5.1.2 Home Cinema System is intended to replicate the real theatre experience at home. It has a 5.1.2 system with Dolby Atmos installed. In order to create the illusion of 3D sound, the front loudspeakers are built to project sounds vertically upward. The Dolby Atmos technology is made feasible by two loudspeakers, three satellite speakers, one subwoofer, and one extra speaker driver on top of the box. The system is perfect for rooms up to 540 square feet in size.

The 5.1.2-channel configuration is designed to produce high-quality immersive audio in a single easy-to-install kit. With the Focal Sib Evo Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 Home Cinema system, you can enhance the sound in your home theatre without having to deal with the difficulties that come with installing cables into your ceiling. This is made possible by the front left and right speakers’ top firing design. You may upgrade to Dolby Atmos if your receiver supports the format by connecting two wires to the front speakers.

Design

Design

The Focal Sib Evo 5.1.2 surround sound system is reasonably priced, yet the speakers and subwoofer are of high quality. With curved cabinets, mesh grilles, and an appealing gloss black finish, the design is both contemporary and lifestyle-friendly.

The Dolby Atmos speakers are somewhat bigger and have an indentation on the top that houses the upward-firing driver. There are four tiny holes in the back for the speaker wire, and both speakers rest on sturdy rubber supports that may be tilted properly.

The three Satellite speakers each feature two holes in the back for the speaker cord, and their stands may be positioned vertically or horizontally (you can rotate the Focal badge as well, which is a nice touch). There are also two brackets provided for wall mounting the surround speakers.

Sound Quality

Sound Quality

The Focal Sib Evo 5.1.2 has a dynamic front soundstage with accurate and precise delivery from the left and right speakers, as well as clear and focused conversation from the center. The matching tweeters and woofers ensure great tonal balance, creating a fantastic sense of coherence. The surrounds fit in with the rest of the system, while the subwoofer provides a strong bass foundation for the other speakers.

When it comes to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks, the upward-firing drivers excel at producing the required overhead effects, resulting in an exciting and immersive auditory experience in which audio objects are directed smoothly about the room, gliding flawlessly from speaker to speaker. The effects of the greatest object-based audio soundtracks are frequently spectacular, and Despite its small size, the sub has a lot of low-end oomph.

Conclusion

The Sib Evo Dolby Atmos from Focal offers good performance for the money. With the exception of a few minor flaws, such the tricky spring-loaded wire connections, these speakers are stylish, well-designed, and well constructed. They perform admirably with both music and movies. We was far less thrilled, though, with Dolby Atmos’ ability to fulfil its promise without requiring the purchase of ceiling-mounted speakers.

The home theater’s acoustics may be to blame for this; perhaps the ceiling is simply too high for up-firing speakers to work properly. After all, a few months ago, We had a comparable experience with Creative’s new Sonic Carrier soundbar. Give the Focal Sib Evo a try if you want the Dolby Atmos experience without drilling holes in your ceiling, you have a powerful A/V receiver, and it matches your budget; it could be perfect for your home theatre. Just make sure the vendor from whom you’re purchasing it accepts returns in the event that it doesn’t.
