Paradigm Monitor SE Atom Review – Bookshelf Speaker

The new Monitor SE Series is the ideal entry point into high-performance audio since it is fashionable and reasonably priced. Yes, it has cutting-edge technology often reserved for speakers that cost considerably more. However, the new Monitor SE Series is more significant because it is a member of the Paradigm family of high-performance loudspeakers. Like other Paradigm loudspeakers, it alters how you perceive entertainment. A decent pair of bookshelf speakers can offer much more than their size, whether you use them as the focal point of a two-channel music system or as surrounds in a home theatre setup. The Paradigm Monitor SE Atoms deliver lifelike, precise sound at a startlingly low cost. The workhorses of the system, their high-performance tweeter and woofer, keep things crisp, clear, and articulate.

Whether immersed in classic rock or hip-hop or watching a huge gorilla battle a nuclear dinosaur, these speakers are more capable of keeping up with the most demanding audio content. You’ll want to purchase one of Paradigm’s subwoofers to complete the low end for even more immersion and depth. A Defiance V10 or V12 would be suitable, depending on how much bass you want.

The polypropylene bass/midrange driver is loaded with minerals. Due to the material’s low bulk and excellent rigidity, the driver can move quickly enough to keep up with even the most demanding music and movies. If you decide to remove the grille, the expertly crafted surrounds serve to manage the cone’s linear motion while giving it a contemporary, low-profile look. A rear-firing port aids in boosting the low-power.

Sound Quality

Sound Quality

The first misconception that any potential Atom buyer needs to be dispelled is that the speaker is low-fi. I only had to turn on any well-recorded human voice to realise that Paradigm’s engineers are seasoned experts in low-cost hi-fi. I could clearly hear singers Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft from the left and right of the soundstage as they sang “Crystalised” from The xx’s self-titled first album (16-bit/44.1kHz FLAC, XL/Tidal).

The first myth that needs to be addressed for any prospective Atom purchaser is that the speaker is low-fi. Any well-recorded human voice merely needed to be turned on for me to realise that Paradigm’s engineers are seasoned pros at affordable hi-fi. Conclusion

However, the Atom’s audio is so well-balanced that it would be impossible for me to close my eyes and think I was listening to a set of minimonitors. As stunning as its smooth and eloquent midrange is its overachieving high end. The bass extension continues down to around 50Hz after that, which is a healthy portion. Neither does it appear at all undesirable, and its Gloss White finish. The new Monitor SE Atom from Paradigm is all about enhancing sound quality and value a decision that anybody can understand.

    Clean and detailed sound speaker

    Overall Experience:

My expectations were exceeded by these speakers. The bass output was stronger than I had anticipated. The tweeter, which is incredibly smooth and detailed, is the highlight of these speakers. Additionally, the color is a really deep black and looks lovely. They are effective, and I have no issues using a 50-watt amp to power them.
