Design

Design

The OBERON 7’s cabinet enclosure is made of high-density CNC-machined MDF board and covered in carefully chosen high-grade vinyl. With sturdy bracings running the length of the interior of the cabinet for reinforcement, the OBERON 7 cabinet has an extremely strong design. This increases the rigidity of the cabinet and almost eliminates resonance.

The inside sides, top, and bottom of the speakers are lined with acoustic dampening material to improve timing. The woofer and bass port come into closer contact as a result. A more focused bass and greater middle “attack” are the audible effects.

The OBERON 7’s bass ports are located on the back, which optimises room integration by using the wall for better bass performance.

Sound Quality

Sound Quality

For such a huge yet affordable floor stander, the DALI Oberon 7 sounds remarkably well-rounded. It just requires a slight toe-in and may be placed around 60 cm away from the back boundary wall to provide an excellent sound. A sounding design with a gently warm tone, seamless drive unit integration, loads of detail, and a powerful bottom. It is actually extremely capable without being lifeless and uninteresting. Play Steely Dan’s Home At Last, and the speaker produces a big, full-bodied sound that expands the stereo picture well beyond the confines of its cabinets while still providing a respectable level of stage depth.
