Design
The cabinet for the 606 S2 is well-made and looks great in the brand-new wood finish. When we compare it to a sample of the previous model, the new one represents a little improvement in fit and finish. Although the front is rather small, the speaker’s depth of 30 cm makes it quite deep. Naturally, the driving unit combination is quite competent and well-proven. Here, a 165mm Continuum-coned mid/bass driver is used in conjunction with a 25mm reinforced aluminium dome tweeter. There is a rear-firing dimpled reflex port to adjust the lows, but if the bass becomes overpowering, foam bungs may be used to prevent it.
Sound Quality
In this area, the new version is considerably more regulated and exact.
